Arc suppression blankets are used to provide additional protection from the potential hazards of an electrical arc blast, and are intended to be used as a protective cover and containment measure only. When dealing with electrical hazards, a properly used arc suppression blanket can reduce the chances for injury. Arc suppression blankets are not meant to serve as electrical insulation, nor are they a substitute for wearing proper arc flash equipment in a work area.
