American Work Safety offers a variety of chemical protection solutions, including Level B and Level A encapsulated HAZMAT suits from Kappler and Lakeland.
Level A Hazardous Materials Suits: Gas-Tight Fully Encapsulated Protection
Level A HAZMAT suits provide the best protection against gases, vapors, mists, and particulate hazards. They consist of a gas-tight fully encapsulating chemical entry suit, with a supplied air respirator (SAR) or full-facepiece self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) worn underneath the suit. Steel toed boots, a two-way radio within the suit, and selected chemical-resistant gloves complete the Level A standard of protection.
Level B Hazardous Materials Suits: Non-Vapor-Protective Encapsulated Protection
Level B HAZMAT suits are worn in situations where gas-tight chemical protection is not required, and provide protection against splashed chemicals. SCBA is worn on the outside of the suit, and wrists, ankles, and other potential entry points are secured against entry of splashed liquids. Level B suits may consist of one-piece or two-piece garments, and require chemical-resistant steel-toed boots (worn outside the suit), two-way radios, and selected chemical-resistant gloves to comply fully with Level B standards.
